Conversations with a legend.

I know this is a bit late, considering this happened on Saturday, but I thought I’d post it as a ‘general interest’ kinda article.

I’m following James Moran, one of the head writers on Doctor Who/Torchwood, on Twitter (@alexryans, by the way ) and he asked what was better – Batman Forever or The Phantom Menace. Needless to say, I replied with Batman Forever – never thinking for a second he’d actually reply.

But reply he did! Here’s some lovely screens to prove it!

Start reading from the bottom, by the way.

Apologies and a playlist

Alright everyone?

Apologies first of all – sorry I haven’t posted anything in a while. I’ve been mega busy. You may even get some nice goodies soon, if I choose to upload!

Anyway, that’s that bit out of the way. Now, I’d like to share the sounds of my summer with you. I’ve created a nice little playlist on iTunes which I have decided to live by during this heatwave season. Let me know what you think!

iPhone 3G S

Just a quickie – finally got my new iPhone 3G S! Can’t believe how excited I am.

Will blog about stuff later when I can be bothered, because I’m a little tied up at the minute (metaphorically…not literally, folks!)

“The Eggman” and other things…

For those of you who are unaware, I used to go to The King’s School in Pontefract. While I was there, there was one teacher who was the knees of the bees. His name is Paul Barron. Now, I’ve had many, many crazy conversation with the legendary PB but none more crazy then the conversation about “The Eggman”. “The Eggman” came about after an incessant rambling session where I was attempting to remember the name of actor, Vincent Price – who played the character  ”Egghead” in the original ‘Batman’ TV series. Since I was a baby when this was on, I could just remember something about Eggs and Vincent Price. Needless to say, no-one believed me when I was rambling about “The Eggman”.

Well, to prove everyone wrong, I have found an image of said “Eggman” to prove to you all that he does exist! Here it is in all it’s egg-cellent glory! (Sorry, I had to use that one!)

Now, here’s the “other things” part of this post – my review of the new Jonas Brothers’ album: ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times‘.

Lines,Vines and Trying Times

It’s amazing…I can’t really say much else. Oh, apart from ‘buy it!’ On a serious note, however, the three lads have grown up so much musically in the past year and the new album really does show off their skills. With a stunning duet with rapper Common, Team Jonas are on form once again for a great album which I really hope gets the airplay it definitely deserves.

And finally, I had two injections today…they hurt – a lot – and my left arm is completely dead.

iPhone 3G S

Wheeeey! A new iPhone was released yesterday by Apple at WWDC (that’s the ‘Worldwide Developer’s Conference’, for all those non-geeks out there!) ‘09. Named “iPhone 3G S”, the ‘S’ standing for Speed, it offers an unparallelled and seamless iPod/Phone/Pager etc experience.

Sounds like I should have it, right? Especially on the day it’s released – June 19. That’s all very well and good, and even my Mum’s on board for me to race to the shops and purchase my 2nd iPhone. But O2 don’t seem to agree! I’m already on a perfect tariff for my iPhone, £35 with 500 minutes and 600 texts – lovely jubbly – and the new phone costs £185. Seems reasonable for such a great piece of kit – especially when you consider the original 2G version was priced at £269.

Operation 3GS, then, is theoretically me transferring my existing contract over to the new iPhone and just getting on with my life, after giving O2 £185 of my cold, hard-earned. Seems like a good deal for all concerned, then – right? Wrong, because O2 would like me to pay £440.40 for a Pay & Go version and then put my existing SIM into the phone. How ridiculous is that? Another option they gave me is to buy myself out of the contract I’ve already got (around £210) and then pay an extra £185 for the phone and get another £35 per month contract! The world has gone bonkers!!

Needless to say, I’m not happy – hence why this post is going into the ‘Ramblings’ category and not anywhere else. Now, just to make sure I don’t bore you, I’m going to sign off now after my little vent and I’m going to amuse you with pictures of the very item I can’t have – so you can admire its natural beauty.

Updates, updates…

Afternoon all!
Looks like I got my wish for a bit of rain and clouds. Couldn’t be more happier. Life’s all good at the minute – had a really good night last night for Joe’s birthday. Night at the Museum 2 is a cracking film, by the way, just in case any of you were thinking about going to see it.
Driving lesson today, which will be interesting – especially after I haven’t had one for 2 weeks…let’s see if I can remember what it is I’m supposed to be doing.
Anyway, I’ll keep everyone posted with what’s happening as and when it happens, so until then, bye!

It’s signed and everything!

Lines, Vines & Trying TimesIf you don’t already know, I’m a big Jonas Brothers fan (JB from now on). So when I see something like the image to the right, I have to have it. Shame parents don’t think the same, right? Aah well…there’s time yet – good things come to those who wait!

Beware – falling rocks!

Sorry about the downtime the other day…I did say we’d be doing a bit of renovation to the blog! It could happen again if I get careless with its architecture until I get used to the way it all works, so please bear with me.
In the meantime, we’re all back and sorted – so the job’s a good ‘un!
P.S. If it all goes to pot again, then I’ll sort it one way or another…in the meantime, just keep those hardhats on, because there’s a danger of falling rocks while construction is underway!

Weather

Alright, so it’s not the hottest topic today (see what I did there?), what with Diversity winning BGT and SuBo coming 2nd, but let’s face it – the weather is getting warmer and warmer.
Now personally, I’m not too keen about this fact so I’m spending as much time in my office with the fan on full blast, and the music cranked up. Sure, I appreciate it’s summertime and it’s going to get hot – but it’s certainly not for me.
On a related note, I bought a t-shirt the other day which declares ‘British Summertime’, with the weather symbols for snow, rain and thunder underneath it. Perfect! If I find a picture of it, I’ll post it.

Appearance

Allow me to offer my apologies, first of all, if this blog looks a little messy at the minute – I’m still editing its appearance so there may be a danger of some serious crimes against design in the next few weeks.
Rest assured, though, that I won’t be abandoning this blog until designs are completed, so if you can ignore how this place looks feel free to check back soon.
